About Auckland

Auckland (Tāmaki Makaurau) is home to roughly a third of all New Zealanders, stretching from Wellsford in the north to Pukekohe in the south and out to the Hauraki Gulf islands like Waiheke. Built across two harbours and a field of volcanic cones, it is the country's commercial engine, where head offices sit alongside suburban high streets and market-garden towns.
